Setup Instructions for New Laptop
- To begin, you will select a country, language, and keyboard layout.

-
Next, you have the option to add another keyboard. There will be a Skip button to bypass this screen.

- From there, Windows will discover the networks and allow you to select and connect to one. Once connected to the network, click Next.

- Windows will then check for available updates.

- Next, Windows will ask to name your machine. DO NOT name your PC. Please click SKIP FOR NOW.

-
Next, you will be asked to set up this device as a personal device or a Work or School Device. Select SET UP FOR WORK OR SCHOOL. This is very crucial in your device registration process. If this step is missed, please reach out to 843-990-5975 OR SUPPORT@CORE4CE.COM.

- Next, you will sign in to your Core4ce account using your email address. Click next and enter your new Core4ce credentials, which will be included in the body of the welcome email. Upon logging into your laptop, you will follow initial account setup instructions including a password change and Multi-Factor Authentication setup.

- Once you have authenticated and signed in to your Microsoft account, you will see the Setting up for work or school screen. Please wait for the device preparation, device setup and account setup to finish. If it does not complete, click continue anyway at the bottom of the screen.

- Next, review and accept the privacy settings for the device. Click Next, then click Accept.

- The next step is to enter the preferences. You may also skip this step. On the next page, select the checkbox to agree with Dell’s privacy policy and telemetry notice. Click Next.
- Going forward you will be asked to set up a fingerprint for sign-in. Please keep in mind before creating any sign-in method you will be prompted to authenticate MFA. This is not a necessary step.

- Lastly, you will be prompted to set up a PIN. Remember you will be prompted to authenticate. The requirements for your PIN are as follows:
- Numeric ONLY
- 6 to 48 characters
- No repetition or sequential order

Once you have done this initial device setup, you will be prompted to log into your laptop for the first time. You will need to use your full email address and password for this first-time setup. Afterwards you will be able to use any other authentications methods that you have setup on previous steps (fingerprint or pin).

After logging in, your device will appear as if it is brand new. Applications, policies, and profiles will begin to install in the background. We recommend leaving your laptop powered on and connected to the internet while this process runs. Feel free to use any web applications during this time.
This process generally takes about an hour to run. Reboot your laptop after an hour. If your laptop has the Core4ce desktop background, that is typically a great indicator that most (if not all) of your applications and policies have successfully been received.
Afterwards, you should be all set! Here are some final pointers to leave you with.
